I have been in the car share scheme for just over two years now & I really enjoy it. Not only does it mean that I save money travelling on petrol & parking but it is nice to have some company on my journey to and from work. I think car share is a great scheme. Because there is no direct public transport system from where I live, using the car is the only practical means of getting to work. Car sharing saves money, particularly in these times of rising fuel prices, reduces the stress of having to drive every day, is a great help when the car has to go to the garage, and provides some company. Finally, the chance of a car parking space in the multi storey car park is a definite bonus.

After travelling on the train to work from Braintree everyday for a couple of years and putting up with the poor service, my friend and I decided to car share together and were successful in applying for a free car sharing space in the multi story car park.

The first benefit that springs to mind is financial we are both saving a fair bit of money every month. Socially we have become firm friends! Time wise we save just under half an hour a day. Of course our jobs require some flexibility in regards to working hours, but we are always able to work something out which suits both of our travelling needs.

Overall I have really seen the benefits of car sharing and would thoroughly recommend it!
